Wonderland Crafts Wooden Cross Stitch Kit FLW-037 – Easter Egg on Plywood with Stand

Wonderland Crafts FLW-037 is a counted cross stitch and beadwork kit on laser-cut plywood. Instead of fabric, you stitch into a rigid wooden shape with the holes already drilled — the base is the finished object, so there is no hoop, no stretching, no framing and no finishing work at the end. The design is a jewelled Fabergé-style egg: six shades of blue worked in bands, then overlaid with gold bead lines, pearl and crystal accents and raised red cabochon beads. The kit includes a wooden stand, and the completed egg stands on it as a small Easter decoration.

Working on Plywood

Each stitch goes through a pre-drilled hole, so the spacing is fixed and the stitches sit evenly — plywood is a forgiving base even if you have never stitched on anything but fabric. Only six floss colors are used here, and much of the effect comes from the beadwork laid over the stitching, so the piece works up faster than the color count on the chart might suggest. This design is single-sided, so the reverse stays open while you work and your thread carries are visible from behind. The kit includes felt or foam for the back: once the stitching is finished, cut it to shape and glue it on for a clean reverse. Unlike fabric work, the finished piece must stay dry. Do not wash, soak or steam it — plywood warps and the surface tint can stain. Dust with a soft dry brush and keep it away from damp spots such as bathrooms and window sills.

A small project with a real finish line — a weekend or two of stitching and you have an Easter piece to put on the table, not another unframed square in the drawer.
