The narrow eye keeps the needle's profile slim enough to pass through tight bead holes, but limits the thread to single strands of beading thread or fine nylon. These needles are built for stringing beads and beadweaving, where the needle threads through multiple beads in sequence. They can also be used to attach beads to fabric, but their length and fineness make them prone to bending or snapping when pushed repeatedly through fabric — if sewing beads onto embroidery is your main task, shorter bead embroidery needles will hold up better.
